RS is Raley Sport_ standard engine and trans

I believe it is the interior/exterior trim, engine, and trans packages available for the model

rs only features visual upgrades.
ss features performance upgrades.
i think chevy made a rs/ss camaro…….im pretty sure.

ss cars disc brake were option rs cars disc stanard rs cars bucket seat and console bench was option ss cars had stripe across front rs had stripes on hood and deck lid rs and ss were trim options but lots of time rs optios on ss and ss on rs but you had have rs to get rear disc so if you liked ss options you would but wanted rear disc option you order ss rs but if you wanted hood tach and rear disc you order rs ss and then got rallay stripes to get full picure yuo need camero history books as ther were many way to order 1st gen from 6 cyl columm shift or console shift the 60 40 bench and 4 sp was rs option a z28 in 67 was 302 4 sp only no ac no auto ps and pb was standard if rear disc most had posi all had ralley stripes as rs cars all rpoz f41 handle pack in ss rpoz f41 was option in 69 you can order z28 with 350 and auto trans and air but dz 302 was same as 67 hope that answer some /? as options list was very long and packages also long but 396 engine cars all ss cars but some had 4 wheel disc or option j l 8 and in 69 there were copo cars 427 4 sp j l 8 with one color and no stripes and bench seats with alum cyl heads and intakes

Both are add ons for a basic coupe..

Rs (Rally sport) is an beauty package..Hidden headlights,reverse lights separate from taillights, etc…

SS (Super sport) was a performance add on. Higher HP motor , trans ,12 bolt rear end and multileaf suspension.

You could add either or both to a base coupe to make it a RS,SS or RS/SS
