“did not want to taint the name of the camaro”?? since when does a corporation care about “taining” nameplates? and why didnt they stop with the Corvette? the corvette is a bang for buck american supercar, so it doesnt surprise me that what you stated is bullshit. and have you seen the camaro/firebird sales from 1998 to 2002? they steadily declined while the Mustang’s inclined.

The real reason they stopped: GM wanted to build cheap cars, which they did, yet did not want to taint the name of the Camaro. Watched it on a Special a month ago. CEO admitted they fucked their cars up in recent years but as of this year, starting with the malibu, concetrating on building quality. And the new camaro will have that quality
